The Dream That Broke Was Real — Week 1

Dream Again. It's trying to dream big dreams and get vision again for what God wants you to do this new year. This is not gonna be a year like last year. You know, I know we had dreams and we had things and there's things that we were hoping to achieve and maybe we didn't hit those marks. But I think this is your year. Something supernatural is gonna happen this year.

I'm believing that breakthrough is gonna happen this year. I'm believing that the dreams and the visions that you've had in your heart, that you'll start dreaming new dreams this new year. Lord, that we thank you the past is the past. It is gone. It is done. Not to come back again.

But this is your year. It's time to dream again. Everyone say dream again. Dream Amen. Now it's not what you desire because I desire a lot of things. I desire a six pack abs or 12 pack, and I ain't got it yet.

Right? I got a membership at LA Fitness, and and and I've had a few donuts this past year. So it's not what you desire, it's what are you committed to. Like, what will you commit to this year to see what you wanna see? What are you willing to do? What are you willing to become?

Let me ask you this. Who do you need to become to actually achieve and succeed in the things that are in your heart? Amen. I think today, this new year, you're gonna dream new dreams. You're gonna dream again, but it's gonna be not that you just set a goal and not that you made a resolution, but it's what am I gonna commit to? And then I wanna ask you this.

In 2024, what was the big distraction? What was it that deviated you off the path? What was it that you you you got your attention, got you off the path? What was it? And then what is the dream this new year? Lord, show us what is it, Holy Spirit.

What is your plan? What is your vision? What is your dream for us, for me, for you, for this church? Think about that for just a moment. It's time to dream again. Some of you, you feel like you've had an old dream, and maybe it's time to dream new ones.

I love Isaiah 43 verse eighteen nineteen. It says, forget the former things. Forget the betrayal. Forget what should've happened that didn't happen. Forget the mistake. Forget about it.

And it says, don't consider the things of old. Others version says, don't dwell in the past. Don't make a house and sit in it. And woe is me like Eeyore with Tigger. Woe is me. I got no friends.

No one invited me over. How come, God, this happened? How come I made these mistakes? Why did I let those distractions take place? Forget about it. That's old.

Forget the former things, the dream that I thought I had that didn't take place. I believe it's time to dream new dreams. It's time to get new vision this new year. It's a new beginning, a new start for you and for me. Amen. And I love what it says.

Behold, I'm doing a new thing. God is doing something new in you today. It starts this Sunday. You decided to put God first at the beginning of this new year and say, for me and my house, we're serving the Lord. Kids, get in the car. We're getting to church.

We might be late. It's okay. But we're gonna get there. Maybe this year you said, hey. You gave in that offering for the very first time. Good job.

It's just the beginning. Amen. But we ain't dwelling on the past no more. We ain't sitting in it. We're not gonna settle in it. We're not gonna allow the distractions or the things of old, the old dreams that didn't come play come to place.

We're not gonna have that we're not gonna let that take our attention any longer. So it's not what you desire to have. What are you committed to this new year? Amen. And that's what we're gonna talk about here in just the next few minutes. And I'm gonna help you because you are one decision away from changing your life.

Your life is made up of decisions. And you get an opportunity today to say, I'm gonna follow Jesus. I'm gonna do things this way. I'm gonna go to the gym every week. I'm gonna stop doing that. I'm gonna start doing everything as a decision.

I'm gonna go to church today. On Sunday, I will be there every week. Rain or snow, but it doesn't snow in Miami. But it seems like it does sometimes. But whether it's beautiful sunshine, I'm committed to the house of the Lord. I'm committed to reading his word.

I'm committed to be and follow the dream that he's given me and you. Amen. You're one decision. And today, you're gonna make a decision, and it's gonna change your life. And it's up to you. You have the power.

You have God's glory. You have his grace. God is in you. God has given you everything that he's ever gonna do. It's already placed on the inside of you. Creativity, joy, peace, all comes from heaven.

And all you have to decide is to align with it and agree with what already God has said about you. Today is time to decide. It's gonna be a new day today. I'm a start doing some new things. I'm gonna start husband and wives. We're gonna keep that date night every week or every two weeks.

We are going out to Starbucks or we're gonna go wherever. We're gonna do whatever it takes to keep the marriage alive. If you're single, you're gonna be committed to God, and then he's that that person's gonna come. Right? If he did it for me, he'll do it for you. He he wants no one to be alone.

Come on, somebody. This is your year. Peter stepped out of the boat in faith. Today is the moment for you to step into the life that God has for you. Amen. What is vision?

Because this year and today, it's about what is the vision for you in 2025. What is the dream? Habakkuk chapter two verse two through three says, write the vision. It's important to write it down. Make it plain or what is it? Make it clear.

Clarify the vision. So then you know what it says and you can run with the vision. You could run to the gym Monday through Friday. Glory to God. Because you wanna be healthy this new year. You could run away from the Oreo cookies down the aisle that you know you shouldn't eat late at night that you buy for your kids, and then it's sitting there.

And it's sitting in the special drawer hidden away crying out your name, eat me, eat me. But today, this new year, I'm not gonna be swayed by the Oreo cookie neither will you. Because you got a vision. You got a plan. It's clear. This is your direction.

This is your north, and that is what you're gonna do. I'm not gonna just wish it. I'm not gonna just set a goal, but I'm gonna commit to it. Amen. You can do this. Vision is a God inspired picture of your future.

It's the blueprint. It's the divine map, and it's time to follow his map because you know what? He wrote everything down and made it plain so you could run with it. All you have to do is read this. I would challenge you this new year. Hey.

Start reading your word every day. Make it a holy habit. This will change your life. You need this to go through life because this is God's word speaking to you. And later today, I'm gonna let you join a program that I'm in, that a lot of us are in, to read the bible every day. So you could be a self feeder.

So you don't have to rely on can you imagine if I only ate on Sunday? Bro, I'm telling you, I know man don't live by bread alone, but every word that comes out the mouth of God, but I need some bread too. And you need the word of life too and not just on Sunday. You can't rely on me or pastor Delgado to always feed you and to fill you. You need to feed and fill yourself and read the vision that he's given for you. Amen.

Commit to his word this new year. When's the last time? I know. I know. Maybe it's only on Sunday. Maybe.

You know? But it's new year. This is the blueprint. Without vision, you wander. Without clear direction, you're just aimlessly going through life. Not this year.

With vision, you could run. Right? Could you imagine? I mean, I would never be a marathon runner. Anyone ever run marathons? Yeah.

That's great for you. God bless you. But, thankfully, they have a start and an ending spot and clear signs to go so you know it will finish and you will not die. God has a clear vision and plan for you. When I think of what happened in scripture, Abraham, man, God speaks to him and says, hey, guess what? You're gonna be the father of many nations.

You know what he did? He said, hey, every time you will go outside and look in the stars, that's gonna be your descendants. That he gave him vision. And he said, every time you go to that Hollywood Beach in Miami Beach, the sand is how many kids you're have one day. Vision. God gave him vision.

You see, Joseph, he dreams a dream that comes to pass, but he goes through slavery. He gets, man, betrayals. He goes through all kind of hell from the dream that God gives him. And one day, he leads the people and saves people from famine, but he gave him a dream. Today, he's given you a dream today. It's time to dream again today.

He gave Moses the burning bush. I don't know about you, but if some flaming palm tree is talking to me, I'm a little woah. And he said, hey, bro. You're gonna lead my people. And he spoke to him through a burning bush, Talking about vision and dreams. Paul was going to it was a persecutor of Christians throwing him in jail.

They were getting killed because of him. And then one day, Jesus knocks him off his horse, and he turns him from a persecutor to a preacher. And he describes this moment to Caesar and all the high officials that God takes him to. And he says, I got a heavenly vision. Let me tell you about it. Nehemiah had a vision to rebuild the walls that had been taken down.

Right? God has a vision for you. God gave Noah a vision. He said, hey. You gotta build an ark, and you ain't never seen rain, but it's okay. And here's the direction.

Here's the clear steps. It's gonna be more long it's gonna be bigger than a football field. It's gonna be higher. It's gonna be almost as big as the Titanic, and this is how you make it. Gave him clarity, and he had vision to to carry it out. Vision.

I think of Apple Maps. I love how many of you despise Apple Maps? Maps, I don't know. People that love app. I love Apple, but maps, thank god for Apple Maps or Google Maps or Waze. Thank god you put especially even Miami, it's I still gotta use my phone.

Well, how do I get there? And you gotta put in a destination, and it leads you the right path and the right direction most of the time. But that's what God is doing. He's writing your vision, and he gives direction to your life. You know, this is what scientific research says. Forty two percent of people that write down their vision, that give clarity to their goals, they write it down.

You are 42% more likely to carry out that goal, that dream, that commitment when you actually just write it down. Right? How many would think it's great to get to almost 50% knowing, hey. If I write my goals down this year, I write my vision, I'm gonna I'm 50% more likely to do it. I would say, let's do it, man. I want 2025 to be radical.

I want it to be big. I want it to be special. I want it to be extravagant. I want breakthroughs. I wanna look back on December 31 and look back and say, man, look at everything that was accomplished, all the changes that were made, the things that I were committed to that I didn't give up, and I saw the course through and look what God has done on 12/31/2025 and say, look. I'm not the same anymore.

You have that opportunity today. It's a new year for you and me. Amen. So let's write it down. What is the vision that God has for you? How do you get vision?

Talk to God. God, what do you want me to do? What have you called me to do? God, what is next? What is your dream for my life as a mother, as a father, as a business owner, as an entrepreneur? What is it, Lord?

Show me. Talk to him and write it down. He will show you. Vision gives purpose to your path and clarity to your calling. Amen. Write it down.

Hey. Today, as you leave if someone can give me that board real quick. You seen these vision boards? Some of them got you got it. As you leave this way today, every one of you this is something we've done for forty years at this church because this is the fortieth year of Alpha and Omega Church. This is the year of where the in forty years, they possess the land.

We believe you're gonna possess everything that God has for you this year. This is your year. And pastor Delgado is gonna be sharing next Sunday for us the word of the year, so get ready. But I wanted you to get ready because you're gonna take this home today. And look, you love magazine clippings? Go buy some magazines.

Go download, go print, go get your nice creative markers or pencil drawings or whatever and start putting down cut out and place scriptures. And what do you see big picture? What do you wanna feel? What do you wanna see? My whole family sitting at a table next Thanksgiving dinner. My whole family at church together, reaching that one loved one that needs Jesus, their face right here.

Six pack abs right here. Come on, somebody. Right? A lot of money in the bank account. Put it down right here. Get vision.

Make the big picture and then hang this up in your house so that you're always seeing like Abraham. Every time he walked out and looked at the stars, he saw, okay. God said that I'm gonna have many people in my family. I see it, God. And every time you walk out to Miami Beach, you see the sand. I see it, God.

So every time you see this in your house, what God spoke to your heart, you're seeing it. You wrote it down. You're 42% more likely to make it happen. I want it happen. Don't wish. Commit.

Do the work. This is for you. All of you get this today. Amen. Write the vision. Make it plain.

Now that's good. And you're gonna do that this week. And at the end of the month, on the last Sunday of this month, we're gonna bring back our vision board. All done. And you ain't gonna show nobody, but we're gonna pray over that vision. We're gonna bless the vision.

Amen. And we're gonna anoint the vision, and we're gonna believe that this year is the biggest year of your life. Amen. It's gonna happen. But how, pastor? How?

How do I do that? Vision is the road map to God's purpose for your life. Once you've written your vision, it's time to to make it come to pass. Look at Proverbs sixteen three. It says, commit your work to the Lord and your plans will be established. I wanna give you a framework to help you now once you get on the board.

This is where I'm going. This is what I wanna feel. This is what it looks like, the end. How are the do I get there? Is this is called the WHOOP method. WHOOP.

WHOOP. The WHOOP method. It's like Whopper, Whopper. You remember Burger King and Whopper? But it's WHOOP. It's called the WHOOP method.

I wanna explain it to you. And this is how we're and I'm gonna give this to you today as well, this framework. Number one is what is your wish? Define your specific goal. What is it? What do you wish?

Well, I wish to lose 20 pounds in the next three months. Making it clear. What is your desire? What is your wish this new year? You're gonna write it down. You're gonna think about it.

And when you do this, you can do this for every area of your life, financially, personally, for your ministry, for your health. What do you wish for your health? Oh, I desire to lose 20 pounds in the next three months. So I'm gonna write that down. This is for example. Maybe this is for me, but this is for you to help you understand.

The next one is what do you hope? What's the good that will come from it? Man, I'll have more energy. I won't get tired when I'm preaching. Right? I'll be able to beat my son in basketball one day and dunk on him like I used to back in my twenties.

That's what I I wanna feel good. Right? Oh, I I wish to be healthy, lose 20 pounds. What will happen? What's the good? The outcome, the hope that will take place.

I'll feel better. I'll I'll love taking selfies again or lonelies, whatever you call them. But you'll I wanna live long. I I wanna live my hundred twenty years if possible. As God said, this is the max we can live. I wanna be healthy.

So write it down. This is my hope. This is the outcome. Okay. So you write that down. What's the obstacle?

What are the challenges that will hinder you? Identify what will stop you. What distractions that will take place? What temptations that will come up? What are gonna happen? Oh, I'm gonna lose 20 pounds next three months.

Oh, well, procrastination. It's raining today. I don't wanna go to the gym, so I'm a stay home. Excuses? Write it down. What are the obstacles?

What might stop you? What bad habits are caught oh, I'm on my phone all night. I'm playing video games all day long, so I didn't get to go like I wanted to. What is it? What's the obstacle? Write it down.

Next, what's the plan? What are the daily steps that you're gonna take to reach your wish? Now wish isn't a magical thing. I know. Oh, do you you know, you see the movies, but wish is a strong desire of a goal that you wanna achieve. I wish you good health this year.

Okay. Me too. What steps will you take? What is the plan? What are you gonna do every week to accomplish that wish to be in healthy and to losing 20 pound? What are you gonna do?

Every day, every week, every month, what are you gonna do? If you wanna change, what are you gonna commit to to change? If you wanna achieve your wish, what do you gotta do? Oh, I wanted to go to school and I wanna get my degree. Okay. Did you go?

And neck first step, I gotta apply. I gotta take the test. I gotta pay the enrollment fee. Write the steps down. Write them down because you're 42% more likely to do what you write down. Oh, I know I gotta do that.

Have you ever done that? I do that all the time. Oh my goodness. Oh, I need to do that, think about it, and then I forgot about it. And then it didn't happen. It's like, unbelievable.

Why didn't it happen? Why I never wrote it down, then I forgot about it? Why I wish to lose 30 pounds in twenty, you know, 30 pounds in twenty days, which is it could happen, but and or 20 pounds in three months, But I never wrote it down. I never made a plan. I never what's the plan? What am I gonna do every day?

I'm gonna get up every day at 6AM. I go to the gym for thirty minutes. That's it. It's gotta happen. You make the plan for whatever it is that you wanna achieve. You gotta write it down.

You gotta plan. Amen. Hire a coach. Join a group. Get a nutritionist. Help you.

Somebody help you. Get the plan. Easy. But work. And then last is pray. We're gonna take all this to God.

God help me. Help me get to the gym every day. Hey, Erik. I already gave you the grace, the anointing, the okay. Thank you. Don't eat the Oreos that you bought for your kids.

I got it, Lord. You got it. Okay. I wanna be healthy. I don't wanna have high blood pressure. I don't wanna be a type two diabetic, which I'm not and I don't have.

I'm just saying. This is an example. Don't get worried, but it could happen. Ask God to guide you. Ask God to bless you. Ask God to help you.

Ask God to be with you. Ask for his this is the WHOOP method. Okay? So I wanna help you with the WHOOP method. I wanna send to you this plan. I'm gonna the next slide has you just text to this phone number, which is my phone number.

Okay? Text to this number, WHOOP method. After service, I'm gonna send you the link to download that method with the whole plan written out. Because I know most of you didn't write it down. And then you're gonna walk away and say, oh, I forgot. And because you didn't write down, then you didn't follow anything.

And then you come back next week and you're like, oh, I still wanna do this new thing. And then in two weeks, 70% of new goals don't aren't accomplished, and everyone gives up. So if you're serious, take a picture of that of your phone. Take out your phone. Take a picture. And text me today.

Don't text me right now. If you want to, I'm on silent. Don't worry. But I'll send you the link because I got this whole plan written out just for you because I want you to be able to take action. I want you to see your dreams fulfilled. Amen.

How many think you can do this? I think you could do it. I've been doing it all week. I've been doing it with my wife. We sat down. We could do this.

You could do this. We're gonna dream again. Now here's the problem that we're gonna fix today. Did you get that? Take a picture. You can't well, before I say that, in the Old Testament, when the when God would do something special in people's lives, he would give them a sign or something to remember what it took place in their life.

When God flooded the earth, he put a rainbow in the sky and said, hey, guys, you see those rainbows every all the time? Every time I see that rainbow, oh, God will never destroy the earth with water again. Every time I see my ring, oh, I'm married to my wife. Amen. So it's symbolic. It's memorial.

When the children of Israel crossed the River Jordan and God broke through and did miracles, they set up stones to remember what God had done in their life. What how he broke through, how he helped them, how he freed them, how he healed them. I believe today, you're gonna look back on this service of 2025. And in this moment that we're about to experience is gonna be something you're gonna look back to the rest of your life and say that was the day that God healed me. That's the day that the burdens that I was carrying that were weighing me down, the sins, the mistakes, the hurts, the betrayals, the things that people did wrong, I believe you can't achieve all the things that I'm talking about until you let go of the burdens that you've been carrying. Some of you have been betrayed.

You've been hurt. You've been stabbed in the back. You were wronged. You internally are wounded, and it hurts. And until God heals you of that trauma, of that pain, there will not be a great 2025 because you're still carrying these rocks. Think of if you tried to hike up a mountain with 50 pounds of rocks on your back.

That's hard. You probably ain't gonna make it. And today, God wants to heal you, forgive you, take out the arrows that are in your back. He wants you to release your burdens to him. And don't carry anything from the past of 2024 into 2025. That on this day, you said, God, I'm giving it to you at the altar.

All the stuff that happened that shouldn't have happened, but did happen. All the things that you've been carrying that hurt you. That today is the day, this new year, that we're gonna lay down at the altar. And we're not gonna let that control us anymore. We're gonna let that sin bother us. And the things that people did to you, I believe today, he's gonna heal you.

This is what the bible says. In Psalms one forty seven three, it says, he heals the brokenhearted, and he binds up their wounds. If you're gonna step into God's vision for 2025, he's gonna heal your wounds today. You need to be healed today. God is gonna bind up your brokenhearted today so that you can fulfill everything that God has called you to do, Everything God's called you to become.

Everything that needs to take place, but we gotta resolve it and leave our burdens here at the feet of Jesus. And say, God, I I can't carry it anymore. This hurt is hurts too much. The wrong was too big. The betrayal was too great.

My heart is broken. And I believe god's saying, child, today, I'm heal here to heal your broken heart. I'm healed I'm here to put back together again the shattered glass of your life. I'm here to create a new masterpiece in your life. And today, this morning, he wants to heal you from the inside out.
